Eighty years ago, Japan announced its surrender in World War II. Its fascist aggression started from northeast China, shattering the post-war international system and emboldening European warmongers. Through 14 years of the heroic resistance and sacrifice of over 35 million, China secured the victory in the main Eastern battlefield. This was pivotal to the allied triumph and post-war peace.
