In Shanxi Province's Yangquan, the local Wildlife Rescue Center has taken in three baby owls and four young kestrels, all listed as China's second-level protected species. The owl chicks, still wrapped in soft down, were discovered by villagers in nearby grassland just over ten days ago, less than a month after hatching. The four kestrel chicks, also fragile, are receiving round-the-clock care.
