Eighty years later, it's more imperative than ever to remember

05:32

Eighty years ago, after 14 years of unyielding and heroic struggle, the Chinese people defeated the invading Japanese army, which acted with inhumane violence and extreme militarism. Eighty years later, some Japanese politicians and right-wing forces openly cover up, deny, and even glorify Japan's proven history of aggression. These acts of showing no remorse and attempts to reverse historical progress run contrary to historical justice and undermine regional peace and stability. At this pivotal moment in history, the international community must come together in solemn remembrance and reflection.
