In early 2012, Padma Yangjen was among the 20 children with congenital heart disease, from southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, who received life-saving surgery in Beijing. The operation allowed her to not only live a normal, healthy life but also eventually fulfill her dream of becoming a teacher.
