Chinese developer Game Science unveiled a trailer for its new title "Black Myth: Zhong Kui" during the Gamescom Opening Night Live event in Cologne, Germany, on August 19.

The studio confirmed that the game is in the early stages of development and will be released on PC platforms and major consoles, although no launch date has been announced.

Rather than being a direct sequel to "Black Myth: Wukong," the new title is the second entry in the Black Myth franchise. It is inspired by the legend of Zhong Kui, a demon-vanquishing figure in Chinese mythology.

This reveal underscores how Chinese storytelling is increasingly reaching global audiences through the medium of video games.
