It was the story of 13-year-old Wang Erxiao, who bravely lured the enemy into an ambush and gave up his life to protect his village. Born amid the flames of war, this ballad carries a heroic message – when the nation faced peril, 400 million Chinese, young and old alike, stood as a living Great Wall.

Today, as we revisit this story through Chinese school textbooks, a "cross-time mission" quietly begins: "Resilience gene identified. New main quest available: Remember history, strive for a better future." Will you accept?
