In 1940, amid one of the most challenging phases of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Chinese army launched the Hundred-Regiment Campaign – one of the largest operations behind enemy lines. Spanning over five months and involving more than 800 engagements, the operation crippled enemy railways, inflicted heavy losses, and consolidated anti-Japanese bases in north China.
