This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. Anna Yuschenko, a Russian student at Tsinghua University, reflects on the significance of this historic milestone.

Anna's great-grandparents were witnesses to World War Two, and she grew up learning about the war through black-and-white family photos. She believes the Anti-Fascist War represented a global stand against the atrocities and inhumanity of fascism. As young people of Generation Z, she says, they must remember history, cherish peace, choose cooperation over conflict, and understanding over fear.
