We Talk: Peruvian youth calls to remember history and create a peaceful future

This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

Anna Paula Peralta Reyes, a Peruvian student majoring in communication at the University of Lima, studied at a Chinese school in Peru for 11 years before continuing her education at Jilin University in China. Out of her deep affection for China, she has immersed herself in learning about the country's history and culture.

This August, she visited China again and was inspired by the high-speed trains, bustling cities and cutting-edge technology. "Understanding the past allows me to appreciate everything this country has achieved even more," Anna said. "A country that moves forward without forgetting its history is truly an example for us all," she added. 

Anna also shared her hope that countries around the world will work together to create a brighter future. On the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Anna recorded a message saying the Chinese example shows how, with determination, a nation can overcome any adversity.
