Heavy rain and widespread flooding have swept across much of Yemen, damaging infrastructure and impacting historical landmarks, including a UNESCO-listed building in the old city of Sanaa.
In the northwestern canyon areas of Aden, floodwaters surged through natural channels carrying runoff water from neighboring Lahj province before emptying into the sea.
Many houses, some built along or directly on riverbeds, were damaged in the floods.
