End of 'de minimis' exemption hits small businesses in U.S.

Under an executive order signed by U.S. President Donald Trump on July 30, packages valued at $800 or less and shipped to the U.S. outside the international postal network will be subject to "all applicable duties" from August 29. Many small business owners warned the policy would severely affect their ability to source products from overseas, making the future more uncertain.
