Director Huang Yue introduces the documentary Mountains and Rivers Bearing Witness, in which digital restoration and animation are used to bring back the "unseen" of the 82 martyrs of Liulaozhuang village, while recovering long-buried details of history. Through digital light and shadow, the battlefield's raw reality comes alive again, reminding us how the Chinese nation held onto hope in darkness and how the Eastern Front shaped the global fight against fascism.
