China swept past the Dominican Republic in straight sets 3-0 to finish undefeated in Pool F at the FIVB Women's World Championship on Wednesday, and will now turn their attention to the round of 16.

Both teams entered the match with places in the knockout phase already secured.

Wu Mengjie's spike tied the first set at 10-10, before China surged into a 14-10 lead. The 22-year-old picked up an injury in the previous match, but seemed to be back at full fitness in this contest, helping coach Zhao Yong's side take the opener 25-15.

Wu maintained her excellent form as China went right back to work in the second set. The Dominican Republic closed the gap to one point on a kill from Alondra Denis Tapia Cruz, but a block at the net by Wang Yuanyuan helped the PRC seal the deal 25-21.

Another block from Wang made it 19-14 in the third set, before Zhuang Yushan wrapped things up 25-17. China topped the group and will face Pool C runners-up France in the last 16, while the Dominican Republic meet Pool C winners Brazil.
