Boundless Bonds of Porcelain: Visiting the Xujiayao Ming and Qing Dynasty ceramics workshops in Taoyangli, Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province, two Italian university teachers, working in Jiangxi, had a hands-on experience with culture. A millennium of ceramic craftsmanship came to life at the ancient kiln site just by being able to pick up the unglazed porcelain blanks and running their fingers through the shapes of porcelain wares. It was a moment of tactile conversation between the two cultures, a sharing of stories and techniques, and a reminder of how respecting traditions and encouraging the exchange of wisdom can take root in daily activities.
