From 2021 to 2025, China built, renovated, or expanded 15 memorial halls and upgraded exhibitions at 68 others commemorating the country's victory against Japanese aggression. These efforts have basically established a memorial hall system, said Sun Deli, deputy head of the National Cultural Heritage Administration, at a press conference on Sunday.
The conference, held by the press center for the Commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, further outlined preparations for the upcoming victory anniversary events.
More than 10,000 unmovable cultural relics and over 160,000 pieces or sets of movable relics themed around the war have been confirmed across China, Sun added.
China has announced four batches of national-level memorial facilities and historical sites related to the War of Resistance, totaling 294, along with 1,128 renowned heroes from the war, said Ma Feixiong, vice minister of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.
