Since taking over the rotating chairmanship in July last year, China has made significant contributions to deepening regional cooperation within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and beyond. In a recent interview, Imangali Tasmagambetov, the secretary-general of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and former prime minister of Kazakhstan, highly praised Chinese President Xi Jinping's five-point proposal to build an SCO common home of solidarity and mutual trust, peace and tranquility, prosperity and development, good-neighborliness and friendship, and fairness and justice. He stressed that China's initiative holds universal significance, aligns closely with the expectations of the international community, especially the Global South, and offers clear direction for the SCO's further development.
