Chinese President Xi Jinping said members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) should abide by the international rule of law during his speech at the "SCO Plus" meeting in east China's Tianjin on Monday, where he proposed the Global Governance Initiative.
He stressed that the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations, along with other universally recognized norms of international relations, must be observed comprehensively, fully, and in their entirety. International laws and rules should be applied equally and uniformly, he said, adding that there should be no double standards and the house rules of a few countries must not be imposed upon others.
