Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in Beijing on Tuesday, with both sides emphasizing the high-level and strategic importance of China-Malaysia relations.
Anwar is in China for the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
Xi described China and Malaysia as like-minded friends who have supported each other through changing international circumstances and walked together on the path of modernization.
He noted that the two countries are entering a new "Golden 50 Years" in their bilateral relationship.
Referring to his state visit to Malaysia in April, Xi emphasized the important consensus reached on creating a high-level strategic China-Malaysia community with a shared future.
He emphasized the importance of working together to benefit both peoples and promote regional and global peace and development.
Xi also urged the two sides to strengthen cooperation in emerging industries like artificial intelligence, new energy and semiconductors, while pushing forward key projects including the "Two Countries, Twin Parks" and the East Coast Rail Link.
Xi encouraged continuing the Confucian-Islamic Civilizational Dialogue to strengthen cultural ties and promote closer multilateral cooperation to build a more united China-ASEAN community with a shared future, working together to uphold international fairness, justice and the interests of the Global South.

Anwar praised Xi's successful state visit to Malaysia earlier this year, saying it has accelerated bilateral relations and received a warm response from Malaysian society.
He expressed his honor to attend China's V-Day commemorations.
Anwar also welcomed President Xi's recently proposed Global Governance Initiative, noting that it directly addresses current global governance challenges with innovative ideas and practical solutions, and is highly significant for enhancing international governance.
He reaffirmed Malaysia's commitment to the country's special strategic partnership with China and its willingness to strengthen cooperation across various sectors to bring more benefits to the peoples of both countries.
