In the special series "Art Amid the Flames," we explore how Chinese artists, scholars, and institutions kept culture and creativity alive during the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. In the flames of war, three of China's top universities merged in Kunming to survive the Japanese aggression. The National Southwest Associated University became a miracle of education.
