Helicopters carrying the flag of the Communist Party of China, the national flag of the People's Republic of China and the flag of the People's Liberation Army flew over Tian'anmen Square, starting off the V-Day parade in Beijing on Wednesday.
They were followed by 26 more helicopters forming huge numerical shapes of 8 and 0, highlighting the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
A final group of three helicopters concluded the flag guard echelon with banners that read, "Justice will prevail," "Peace will prevail" and "The people will prevail."
