Portugal's squad, led by five-time world player of the year, Cristiano Ronaldo, now aged 40, gathered on Tuesday for a training camp at Cidade do Futebol, their training facility outside Lisbon, ahead of the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Armenia and Hungary.
This was their first training session after the death of Diogo Jota, a regular on the Portuguese national team, who was killed in a car crash together with his brother André Silva in Spain in early July.
The Nations League champions will take on Armenia in Yerevan on September 6th, before heading to Budapest, where they face Hungary on September 9th. The 2026 World Cup will be played in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
