Land, maritime, air combat groups inspected in China's V-Day parade

The land, maritime and air combat groups of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) were inspected during the V-Day parade in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War at Tian'anmen Square in Beijing on Wednesday.

A ground assault formation consisting of new-generation armored vehicles of the PLA Army, including Type-100 tanks and Type-100 fighting vehicles, passed through Tian'anmen Square during the parade.

China's hypersonic anti-ship missiles, including the YJ-19, YJ-17 and YJ-20, were showcased during the parade. The formation also included the YJ-15 missile.

A long-range artillery formation was inspected during the parade. The two types of 191 long-range box-shaped rocket artillery on show can carry out battle-level strikes and tactical support, expanding the boundaries of ground combat.

Four types of carrier-based air defense equipment, which together compose a multi-layered system for air defense cover at all ranges, appeared at the V-Day parade.

Sea-based unmanned warfare equipment, including China's new-type unmanned underwater vehicle, boat and mine-laying system, also made an appearance.

A series of China's air defense weapons, including the HQ-20, HQ-19 and HQ-29, were inspected during the parade. These systems are capable of multi-phase and multi-layered missile interception, as well as air defense at long, medium and short ranges.

China also showcased its anti-unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) systems. The formation included an anti-UAV missile-gun integrated system, high-energy laser weapons and high-power microwave weapons.

The three types of weapons form a powerful "trio" in the PLA's anti-UAV system.
