What's behind China's push for the Global Governance Initiative

The Global Governance Initiative, or GGI, marks the fourth landmark global policy proposal of President Xi Jinping over the past several years, following the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative. Some countries have expressed support for the initiative. Rong Ying, a senior research fellow of the China Institute of International Studies, told CGTN's Tian Wei that the GGI is an innovation of China's diplomacy, representing the nation's strong sense of responsibility to improve global governance. Former Kyrgyz Prime Minister Djoomart Otorbaev believed that through GGI, we need to rethink the world order to make it more fair – not Eurocentric but global-centric.
