In a gripping showdown that spanned more than four hours, Felix Auger-Aliassime triumphed over Alex de Minaur, securing his place in the semi-finals of the US Open for the second time.

The 25-year-old Canadian's victory marks his return to the last four of a Grand Slam for the first time since the 2021 US Open, as he edged past the eighth seed 4-6, 7-6 (9/7), 7-5, 7-6 (7/4).

Reflecting on his hard-fought win, Auger-Aliassime remarked, "Some days you won't feel your best, but I was willing to dig really deep and do everything I can. It feels amazing. Four years ago, it feels like more. It was a tough couple of years, but it feels even better now to be in the semi-finals."

For Australia's De Minaur, 26, the loss marked a frustrating continuation of his struggles at Grand Slam quarter-finals, having now been defeated in all six attempts. He expressed his disappointment candidly, stating, "Right now I'm looking at this like a wasted opportunity."
