Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico in Beijing on Thursday.

Fico is in China to attend commemorations honoring the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

"We discussed, first of all, peace, peace and peace," Fico said during his speech at the Slovak Embassy in Beijing on Thursday. He also described China's V-Day parade as "impressive" and President Xi as a "fighter for peace."
