An interpreter of the Chinese Expeditionary Force on duty on the Burma Road

After passing an army interpreter training program in 1943, Zhao Yansun served on the Burma (today Myanmar) Road, one of the most crucial and monumental supply routes of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. He handled dangerous tasks such as transporting supplies, repairing vehicles and organizing rescues. Working alongside U.S. forces, he continued his mission despite the constant threat of Japanese air raids. 

Zhao felt a deep sense of responsibility to his country, and despite the loss of many of his colleagues in battle, he never regretted his service and gave everything for the cause.
