Russia will respond to China's visa-free policy trial for Russians with a similar policy for Chinese citizens, said Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday.

China will trial a visa-free policy for Russian citizens with ordinary passports from September 15, 2025, to September 14, 2026. Russian citizens with ordinary passports who visit China for business, tourism, visiting family and friends, or exchange visits and transit for no more than 30 days can enter visa-free, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on Tuesday.
