Türkiye booked a place in their first‑ever semifinals at the FIVB Women's World Championship after a physically imposing 3–1 quarterfinal win over the United States in Bangkok.

Türkiye's big advantage is at the net where they dominated by registering 20 points from blocks that repeatedly thwarted the American offense. Captain Eda Erdem set an early tone, contributing five block points as Türkiye swept the Americans aside 25–14.

The US made a spirited comeback in the second set, rallying from 19-16 down to steal it 25-22, briefly unsettling the Turkish side. However, Türkiye reclaimed control in the third set, with Ebrar Karakurt's powerful hitting leading the charge to win it 25-14.

The fourth set intensified into a nail-biter, but Türkiye, aided by Karakurt's match-high 23 points and Melissa Vargas' 21, made the decisive plays when it mattered and clinched the set 25-23 to complete the 3-1 victory. Türkiye now await Japan in Saturday's semifinal.
