AI applications are becoming essential tools for international students in China, according to several foreign ambassadors. The AI platforms are not only helping students adapt to life and studies but are also fostering deeper cultural exchange between China and their home countries.

Bolivian Ambassador to China, Hugo Siles, described apps like DeepSeek and Quark as indispensable tools for students. He highlighted their effectiveness in academic writing and real-time translation, which he believes creates zero-barrier communication.

Siles also emphasized that Chinese AI applications are accessible and widespread, often being free to downloaded on any student's phone.

Former Egyptian Ambassador to China, Mahmoud Allam, pointed out that China is at the forefront of global AI development. Using Quark as an example, he mentioned advanced features like simultaneous interpretation, which significantly enhances the communication experience for non-native Chinese speakers.

The app also offers robust language processing and health consultation functions, he added.

Venezuelan Ambassador Remigio Ceballos offered a different perspective, contrasting the development paths of Chinese and Western AI. He argued that while Western AI often serves a more elite user base, Chinese AI applications are designed with the general public in mind. They address practical needs in education, daily life and even healthcare, reflecting a people-centered philosophy.

These AI tools are part of a wider ecosystem of popular Chinese apps used by international students, including Alipay, Weixin and Xiaohongshu. These platforms cover core needs like payments, social networking and lifestyle information.
