China's new mission: test how to protect Earth from asteroid impacts. Wu Weiren, a top space scientist, revealed the plan at a global conference in Hefei City, the capital of east China's Anhui Province. The mission involves two spacecraft: one to monitor and the other to strike the asteroid. The goal is to change the asteroid's orbit by just a few centimeters to prevent future collisions.
