Hong Kong braces for Typhoon Tapah as the Hong Kong Observatory has hoisted the No. 3 Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal and announced plans to upgrade it to the No. 8 signal after 9:20 p.m. local time.

The typhoon is forecast to pass within 200 kilometers of Hong Kong on the morning of Monday, September 8, bringing strong winds, heavy downpours and thunderstorms to the region.
