Tapah, the 16th typhoon of this year, made landfall in south China's Guangdong Province at about 8:50 a.m. on September 8.
Classes remained suspended in schools while over 200 construction sites halted work in Yangjiang City. China's Macao Administrative Region (SAR) also issued No. 8 Signal on September 7. The Macao SAR also suspended public transportation services and closed sea-crossing bridges.
