Chinese President Xi Jinping has called on BRICS member states to cooperate in building a more open global economy centered on shared opportunities. In an interview with CGTN, Zhao Hai, director of International Political Studies at the National Institute for Global Strategy of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), said that the Global South is increasingly turning to platforms like BRICS at a time when the U.S.-led international system is weakening. He emphasized that BRICS seeks to establish a more equitable and inclusive global order by addressing governance gaps and advancing shared development goals.
