Chinese President Xi Jinping took part in a virtual BRICS Summit from Beijing on Monday.
In his speech, the president urged BRICS countries to jointly defend multilateralism and the multilateral trading system, and to promote greater cooperation within BRICS.
When asked about the virtual summit on Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated that China is willing to work with all parties to implement the consensus reached at the summit, jointly promote "BRICS Plus" cooperation, and contribute to an equal, orderly world and an inclusive global economy.
