Fengfanxi is a well-known attraction in the Sayram Lake Scenic Area, the highest and largest alpine lake in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. By the lakeside stands the tallest rock in the area, which resembles a ship's sail and is widely known as the "Fengfan Stone" – fengfan means "sail" in Chinese. A small stream flows year-round from this spot into the lake, giving it the name "Fengfanxi." The waters are crystal clear, with the sand and stones on the lake bed easily visible. As gentle breeze makes waves across the lake, the water reflects the surrounding mountains to create a tranquil and vivid natural scene.
