The 2025 Legislators Forum for Friendly Exchanges opened on September 10, with the theme "Building Global Partnerships for Sustainable Development." The event brought together 63 legislators from over 50 countries and international organizations across five continents, alongside Chinese provincial-level congressional leaders and deputies.
On September 11, participants is scheduled to travel to Xinjiang, where they will visit Urumqi, Changji, Kashgar, Kizilsu, Aksu, Ili, and other locations. The study tour aims to deepen understanding of Xinjiang's development, share governance experiences, build consensus, and enhance dialogue and cooperation.
The Legislators Forum for Friendly Exchanges was initiated by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries in 2023. The forum seeks to strengthen friendly ties among parliamentarians worldwide, promote international parliamentary collaboration, foster people-to-people friendships, safeguard world peace, and advance shared development.
