A Y-20 transport aircraft of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force departed for the Republic of Korea (ROK) on Wednesday to bring back the remains of 30 Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) martyrs who died during the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-1953).

The PLA Air Force will send four J-20 fighter jets to escort the remains of the CPV martyrs as they re-enter Chinese airspace.  

The same Y-20 previously flew over Tian'anmen Square during the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.  

Zhou Han, pilot of the Y-20, said that these arrangements are meant to remember history and honor the fallen heroes.

ROK will transfer the remains of 30 CPV martyrs and their belongings to China on Friday, according to the PLA Air Force.
