The American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai published its 2025 China Business Report on September 10. The report indicates that over one-third of respondents believe Chinese government policies and regulations toward foreign companies have improved in the past few years, a four percentage point increase from 2024. Accordingly, 41 percent say they are confident in China opening up further, a jump from 22 percent last year. Although challenges from economic uncertainties, geopolitical tensions and tariffs persist, AmCham Shanghai reports that China's business environment has improved significantly compared to the previous year.
