Wudang Mountain, one of China's most renowned Taoist sacred sites and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is not only celebrated for its natural scenery and grand ancient architecture but also for its vibrant cultural legacy. In November 2024, Wudang Xiuhua Daoyuan Clothes Co., Ltd. was designated as one of the first intangible cultural heritage inheritance bases in the Wudang Mountain Tourism Special Economic Zone, tasked with preserving and innovating this cultural tradition.

Founded in 1987 by designer Min Xiuhua, the company has built up its reputation by blending Taoist philosophy with modern fashion. Its designs embody the Taoist ideal of simplicity and harmony while incorporating contemporary aesthetics. The product range includes Wudang Tai Chi uniforms, traditional Taoist robes, leisure wear, retro Chinese-style outfits, and modern artistic apparel. Today, its garments are sold not only across the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, but also in more than 30 countries including France, the United States, and Germany.

To keep the garments fashionable yet authentic, Min Xiuhua infuses modern elements into traditional craftsmanship techniques, such as ancient cutting methods, handmade buckles, and intricate embroidery. Many pieces feature embroidered cranes, symbols of longevity, or auspicious cloud motifs inspired by carvings in the Purple Heaven Palace on Wudang Mountain – designs that embody the wisdom of past generations.

Beyond China, Wudang Mountain's cultural influence continues to spread as foreign disciples studying Tai Chi establish health centers abroad, carrying with them not only the martial art but also the attire and spirit of Taoist culture.
