The 2025 China International Fair for Trade in Services in currently going on in Beijing. CGTN reporter Chen Chen visited the healthcare section of the fair on Thursday and discovered different types of robotic arms equipped with AI technology simulating surgeries including bone and abdominal surgeries.

Exhibitors told CGTN that robot-assisted surgeries have been widely adopted in hospitals across the country, claiming they could offer better precision, safety and outcome compared with conventional operations.

Journal Nature also published an article in May which shows that robotic surgery has the potential to fundamentally change interventional medicine by combining the complementary strengths of humans and machines.

Despite the confidence from manufacturers and the academic circle, visitors CGTN interviewed at the fair gave mixed reactions to the idea.

Although most agree that robot surgery is the future in the science of medicine, many think it's still too soon for them to "be the early birds".
