Shanghai completed the main span closure of the Jiasong Road Crossing Project on September 12, marking decisive progress in the city's last planned major bridge across the Huangpu River.
With a main span of 596 meters and a total length of 1,825 meters, the bridge will carry six lanes along with pedestrian and cycling paths.
Scheduled to open in 2026, it is expected to cut cross-river travel time by about 30 minutes and further boost connectivity between the Songjiang and Jinshan districts.
