The Ancient City of Kashi, located in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, has a history of over 2,000 years. Its streets form a maze, lined with earthen buildings that reflect traditional Uygur architecture. Carved wooden doors and brick decorations are common in the alleys, while bakeries, blacksmith shops and other handicraft workshops remain active. Daily life and traditional craftsmanship remain vibrant here, which is why the site is often described as a "living thousand-year-old city."
