A young Italian scholar has journeyed through China visiting over 100 cities – from bustling metropolises to tranquil towns. He has witnessed the nation's cultural diversity and felt the pulse of its remarkable transformation. Meet Dario Famularo, postdoc of the Belt and Road Academy at Beijing Language and Culture University, and a sinologist deeply engaged in the history of Chinese-Italian cultural exchange and history of sinology. 

In the first part of the latest episode of "East Encounters West: Talk to Sinologists," we delve into Famularo's impressions of Chinese cities and the insights gained from his explorations. He even discovered one Chinese city that evokes the warmth of his own Italian hometown. Famularo also shares his perspective on the importance of studying China in today's world.
