Germany won their first continental basketball crown in 32 years after defeating Türkiye 88-83 in the EuroBasket 2025 final in Riga, Latvia on September 14. Their players arrived home in Frankfurt and celebrated their success with fans who filled the square.

The Germans couldn't have brought home the trophy without the remarkable performance of Dennis Schroder. He made a decisive jumper and two clutch free throws in the closing minutes to take his side to victory and was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament. Fans even serenaded him with the birthday song on the day when he turned 32.

"It has been a successful four years," Schroder said. "In 2022, we started with bronze at the European Championships, followed by gold in 2023 at the FIBA World Cup, fourth place at the Olympics, and now gold at the European Championships. And we definitely wouldn't have made it without them."
