Chinese officials say national food security has been well guaranteed during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, China's grain output in 2024 surpassed 1.4 trillion jin, or 700 million metric tonnes, setting a historic record. Over 95 percent of the country's crops now grow from domestic varieties.
