International lawmakers have praised the Global Governance Initiative proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping. The initiative is rooted in the principles of sovereign equality and multilateral cooperation as well as the equal participation of all countries. It seeks to promote collective global action to address the governance gap marked by frequent regional conflicts and slow economic growth. Participants discussed this with CGTN on the sidelines of the 2025 Legislators Forum for Friendly Exchanges, held in Urumqi, capital of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
