The Chinese historical drama "Evil Unbound" had its world premiere in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, on Wednesday. The film revisits the atrocities committed by Japan's Unit 731, a covert germ warfare facility where at least 3,000 people were subjected to inhumane experiments during World War II. More than 300,000 people in China were killed by Japan's biological weapons. The film's worldwide release falls on the anniversary of the September 18 Incident of 1931, which marked the beginning of Japan's 14-year aggression against China. As of 11 am on September 17, its presale box office had already surpassed 117 million yuan ($16 million), according to the movie data platform BEACON Pro.
