New fusion sport Teqball scores points with Beijing audiences

Teqball, the name like the sport itself a fusion of table tennis and football, is a new sport yet already becoming a worldwide trend. It even has its own world series, with Beijing playing host to the 2025 tournament from September 11 to 14.

Taking to the Olympic Forest Park arena, 72 teams from 13 countries competed in three categories: men's singles, men's doubles and mixed doubles.

Teqball is played on a curved table where players use their feet, knees, chest and head to hit a ball over the net.

The international event served as an opportunity to highlight for the convergence of an emerging sport with the Olympic spirit, showcasing Teqball's modern, dynamic and interactive appeal.
