Beijing Guoan of the Chinese Super League were held 2-2 by visiting Cong An Hanoi in their Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League Two opener on Thursday, watching their winless streak grow to three matches in all competitions.

Hanoi scored first in the 15th minute. Leo Artur's shot hit his teammate, but then bounced back him. He passed to Vitao in front of the box to net a long shot. Their side missed an opportunity to double the advantage in the 38th minute. Michael Ngadeu lost control of the ball in the midfield and Cong An broke into the box for Artur to shoot at the target. Goalkeeper Nureli Abbas rejected it to save Guoan from being two goals down early.

Beijing leveled the score four minutes into the second half. Zhang Yuan set up a powerful shot by Chi Zhongguo from outside the box that went into the left bottom corner of the net. Then the home side gained the lead 2-1 in the 65th minute. Hanoi's goalie Nguyen Filip's pass to teammate was intercepted by Zhang who then tapped into half open goal from outside the box.

However, Guoan failed to win at home in the end. Their defensive chaos inside the box was exploited by the opponents for China to net the equalizer in the 73rd minute.
