Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has seen historic achievements in all undertakings since its establishment in 1955 and has brought huge benefits for people of all ethnic groups. Multiple economic indicators in Xinjiang are among the fastest-rising nationwide. In 2024, its GDP surpassed 2 trillion yuan (about $281.4 billion) for the first time. Significant progress has also been made in high-level opening up, infrastructure, people's livelihood and well-being, cultural heritage protection and the battle against desertification.
